Old and debunked lies about Margaret Sanger have resurfaced lately, including in this discussion.
Margaret Sanger started in progressive community activist circles and labor organizers. These were among the few communities that were primarily Caucasian who were strongly against racism.
Sanger became interested in birth control and abortion after seeing Emma Goldman speak (pro-choice, anti-racist, pro-sexual freedom). Goldman was frequently jailed for publicly calling for legal and safe birth control and abortion. Her struggles lead to Sanger's involvement with the movement.
The anti-choice movement (which has always had significant numbers of participants from white racist groups) will need to come up with another way to slander Sanger's legacy. Rev. Bookburn - Radio Volta
There are many significant differences between the US and Europe. European capitalists may be holding on to some popularity, but they have not come close to matching the corruption and welfare for the corporations that have long been trademarks of the US. If history repeats itself, Europe will see a few Reagan-types push de-regulation, 'free-markets,' tax cuts for the rich, and corporate welfare. Further, public services, the environment, and the economic infrastructure will take a serious downturn. Then they can get a round of crazy Newt/ W. Bush-types to say let's give most of the kitty as a 'bailout' to the corporate criminals who did all the damage and paid little taxes.

You are right: Terry and Keyes were not the shooters. However, bin-Laden was not the pilot. When crazed religious leaders incite their unstable followers to hate and declare holy war, the outcome is terrorism. Hmm. Some will never understand what a 'real conservative' is? Well...I'll give it a try. A conservative will rabidly fight for whatever the elite tells them is in their interest. Even during times of financial disaster (thanks to Reagan and W. Bush), the conservative will rant about how we must fight for policies that further serve the top 5%. Then we move to social policies. The conservative will also be a dupe of religious leaders. Similar to the followers of Osama bin-Laden, the conservative will be obsessed with the fetus, hate gay people, defend racist policies and ideas, and demand that everyone be as asexual as their holy leaders pretend to be. Similar to cold-war era effective propaganda, the conservatives will buy any school of thought that scapegoats a hated target (welfare mothers, immigrants, etc.) and attribute social ills to said groups. There is no such thing as sexual addiction. If one works with people who have real addictions, one learns that the clinical definition is symptomatic of withdrawal. Real addictions are cheapened when propagandists compare such experiences with those of someone who gambles, plays golf, or pursues love and sex.
There are behavioral disorders with every component of the addiction propaganda industry. However, in this culture of double-speak, such problems need to be recognized for what they are. Nobody is a sex addict, but there are many behavioral issues that should be acknowledged and addressed.
A person who does not have an actual addiction (e.g. alcohol, heroin, etc.), needs some form of cognitive behavioral therapy for any issues that become severe. They do no need an imaginary, magical-power, father-figure to tell them they are powerless and need a lifetime of endless meetings. Rev. Bookburn - Radio Volta
This is the kind of mentally ill person the holy war leaders are looking for. Similar to the suicide bombers, these Christian warriors don't care what they do to the lives of others, or even their own. The mullahs then fill them with rhetoric and hate, then turn them loose. After each act of terrorism, the mullahs get to issue statements and stand before the media saying that they do not condone the action. Considering the 25+ years of anti-choice terrorism, the suspect's links to far-right militias, and the support network for flight risks, allowing bail (even a high amount) is a foolish idea.

Guidance Counselors in schools got it wrong. If you are too dysfunctional to work for a living and/ or have issues with long-term mental illness, all you need to do is start a church. "Today we mourn the loss of our husband, father and grandfather. Today's event is an unspeakable tragedy for all of us and for George's friends and patients. This is particularly heart wrenching because George was shot down in his house of worship, a place of peace. We would like to express the family's thanks for the many messages of sympathy from our friends and from all across the nation.
We also want to thank the law enforcement officers who are investigating this crime. Our loss is also a loss for the City of Wichita and women across America. George dedicated his life to providing women with high-quality heath care despite frequent threats and violence. We ask that he be remembered as a good husband, father and grandfather and a dedicated servant on behalf of the rights of women everywhere."

It's sad that it takes a tragedy to open peoples’ eyes. While debating with morons and allowing the chipping away of reproductive freedom, anti-abortion terrorists have consistently planned and acted on their intention to wage holy war. They have perpetrated acts of terrorism for over 25 years and are cut from the same cloth as al-Queda. The corporate media acts as if an act is terrorism only if it is performed by terrorists who use the 'other' holy book.
Religious right leaders talk in circles about how they oppose Tiller's assassination, and the media allows such double speak. The 'moral' crusaders will issue statements as always saying that what happened was wrong but....
Then we'll read implausible rhetoric against late-term abortion. Late-term abortion is an absolutely necessary procedure. Countless women will die if the procedure is criminalized by public officials who seek the support of crazed cultists.
The terrorism that happened today is a tragedy of the highest measure. It will be worsened by offensiveness from the corporate media and indifference from the ribbon retards. Fantastic! I am still amazed that in this age of 'homeland security,' this movement with a history of terrorism that exceeds 25 years, ran loose without any need to worry. The widespread surveillance and repression occurred while a group that seems like cousins of al-Queda were ignored. The ill-named 'White Rose Banquet,' which celebrated acts and perpetrators of anti-choice terrorism, even received permission to meet in the DC area a few months after 9/11.
You are so right about Randall Terry. He had groupies throughout his rule over his followers. He had a falling out with his own pastor of 15 years for cheating on his wife with single and married women. During the same time, he called for a theocratic dictatorship in which 'sinners' and 'adulterers' receive severe and extreme punishments.

Randall Terry is an accomplice to murder. While his fund-raising competitors issue fake denouncements, 'Operation Rescue' and most prominent militant orgs have an extensive history of violence. Terry is merely one of the more open ji-hadists. His history of extremism, hatred, bigotry, hypocrisy, infidelity, and financial hustling may have contributed to his kids becoming estranged.
